What is the eligibility for pre-primary teacher training?
At APTTI, eligibility for pre-primary teacher training depends on the level: 10th pass for the Certificate (120 hours), 12th pass for the Diploma (200 hours), and graduation in any subject for the PG Diploma (240 hours) and the Integrated PG Diploma (480 hours). There is no entrance exam, and teaching experience is not required.
What this means in practice
Learners from outside India join on the basis of the equivalent school-leaving or degree qualification in their own country, for example WAEC/NECO in Nigeria, KCSE in Kenya or a bachelor's degree in the Philippines.
Eligibility by level
- Certificate in Pre-Primary Teacher Training: 10th pass
- Diploma in Pre-Primary Teacher Training: 12th pass
- PG Diploma in Pre-Primary Teacher Training: graduate in any discipline
- Integrated PG Diploma: graduate in any discipline
Documents you will usually need
A copy of your highest mark sheet or certificate, photo ID and a passport-size photo. Admissions will confirm exactly what to upload after you apply.
If you are between levels
If you are still studying, for example in 12th or a degree, you can usually join the level that matches your completed qualification now and progress later. A learner in the final year of a degree can start the Diploma with 12th pass and move to the PG Diploma after graduating. If your qualification is from another country and you are unsure how it compares, send a copy to admissions before you pay. Choosing the right level at the start avoids repeating work and helps you plan your budget.
